From the junior footwear market leader in Italy, Geox are without doubt the "shoe of the moment".

Not many people know this but we have Mario Moretti Polegato to thank for Geox shoes. Bothered by overheated feet in his rubber soled shoes, he instinctively punctured holes in the soles to let air through and so the Geox story began!

He had just discovered a simple yet effective way to release excess heat out of his shoes however the next and more difficult step was how to ensure his shoes could be both breathable and waterproof.

By adding a waterproof membrane that allowed perspiration to escape whilst keeping feet dry at the same time, Mario had created what we now know today as Geox.
